The PL/X series DC Drive is a fully digital DC drive system that provides total control of the most demanding motor control applications. The PL/X series offers high-performance Digital 2Q / 4Q DC Drives from 5kW to 1MW output power and can be fully configured by the user.

Neill Drennan comments: “The PL/X DC drive is an intelligent fully programmable product that can be commissioned very quickly giving accurate and dynamic performance. The latest version of the PL/X DC drive has a number of software improvements.
“One significant change is the improved sensitivity of the four push buttons used to program the PL/X unit. The 40-character two-line text display uses a menu structure allowing the user to see all the parameters clearly making programming very intuitive and straightforward.
“As the power requirements increase so do the cable sizes needed to connect the PL/X DC Drive. To assist with cable management the PL/X DC drive in frame 4 and 5 (275Kw to 980KW) has the option for the power cables to enter the drive at the bottom or top of the drive. This gives maximum flexibility in panel design and greatly improved ability when exchanging or replacing existing DC drives.
“The latest version of the PL/X DC drive gives greater availability and options for communications. Using the Compact Com option boards from Anybus; the list of communications options available is very long. Simply by fitting an additional fieldbus mounting board to the PL/X gives the ability to mount and use any of the communications options shown.
“This level of flexibility means the PL/X DC drive can be used as part of just about any communications network, fitting seamlessly as an upgrade or replacement to an existing DC drive system or network. The PL/X DC Drive is an intelligent fully programmable drive, so the digital and analogue inputs and outputs can be used in conjunction with the communications network to greatly increase the capability of any machine design.”
